Schitul Sfantul Ierarh Modest a fost ridicat la initiativa parintelui Modest Ghinea, staretul Manastirii Cetatuia, Negru Voda. Bisericuta este de lemn in stil maramuresean. Schitul Sfantul Ierarh Modest nu este electrificat.
